Broaden the dialogue: Create a standing, respectful forum where APC and PDP diaspora members debate policy on its merits rather than through partisan lines alone.

Encourage civic participation: Run joint voter-education, civic-awareness and registration drives so Nigerians abroad participate lawfully and confidently in the democratic process.

Advocate diaspora voting rights: Make a united, cross-party case to the National Assembly and INEC for practical, lawful mechanisms for diaspora participation.

Channel diaspora capacity: Connect professional expertise, investment and networks in the UK to development partnerships in the Federal Capital Territory and across Nigeria.

Model issue-based politics: Demonstrate that Nigeria's two largest parties can cooperate on national interest without either surrendering its identity or platform.

Strengthen institutions: Support transparent elections, the rule of law and accountable governance as shared, non-partisan commitments.

Non-merger: each party retains its own structure, leadership, manifesto and candidates.

Parity: convening, chairing and agenda-setting rotate between the APC and PDP diaspora structures.

Lawfulness: all activity complies with Nigerian electoral law and UK law on political organisation.

Transparency: agendas, communiqués and funding arrangements are published to both memberships.

National interest first: the coalition speaks on issues as it relates to the ordinary Nigerian citizen.

Formed on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's largest opposition parties — the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In 2015 its candidate Muhammadu Buhari defeated the incumbent president — the first time in Nigeria's history that an opposition party unseated a governing party through the ballot box.

Retained the presidency in 2019 and again in 2023, when Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected President.

Broadly progressive in self-description, with a platform centred on security, anti-corruption, infrastructure and economic reform.

Founded in 1998 during Nigeria's transition to civilian rule and governed the federation from 1999 to 2015.

Organised around progress, democracy, people-centred governance, equity, transparency and justice.

Its UK & Northern Ireland Chapter is the party's flagship international structure, led by Hon. Reverend Rex Chosen.

Currently building a Global Diaspora Membership Portal to register and mobilise Nigerians abroad ahead of 2027.
